Happy Birthday, Grandma Pat!

I am working long hours this week preparing for a MN Dept. of Human Services licensing review. I don't want to miss the opportunity to wish my mom a great big "Happy Birthday" so I will write this for now & hope to post some photos tomorrow.

Hope you have a great day....we love you!!!

Unacceptable Behavior

The Minot State mascot was making "rude" gestures to the Valley City fans at the game on Saturday. The fans around me were totally appalled. I took a photo of the rude Beaver and sent it to the Athletic Director and President of Minot State along with an email expressing my disappointment at the display of poor sportsmanship. I promptly received a letter of apology from the Athletic Director. I obviously wasn't the only one to bring this to their attention.

Weekend at the Farm

This past weekend we were up at the farm for a couple days. Jordan played football at Minot State. Grandpa & Grandma were able to watch the game from the comfort of their easy chairs. It was Minot State's Homecoming and NBC broadcast the entire game!

The seating isn't that great for visitors at MSU - we had a hard time keeping our cameras focused on Jordan. Here are a few shots that we did get.

Offense resting - they had a big game (423 yards on offense)

Waiting for the pass (I don't think this pass came their way)

It was a high scoring game....unfortunately we ended up losing by 9 points at the end. 44-35

Morgan was able to spend Saturday night in Westhope hanging out with friends. After church on Sunday we had a yummy chicken dinner at Grandpa & Grandma's house and Morgan was able to go horseback riding with Kara's Mom (Lori) for a couple hours before we had to head back to Fergus. It was a good weekend.

Allie

Allie was a good sport at the football game. She played in the stands for about 4 hours & then fell asleep at the very end of the game. Grandpa had brought her buddy, Peppy, along down from the farm and she couldn't wait to bring "Puppy" back to the house so she could give her doggie treats and bones. Allie gives Peppy lots of love and attention whenever she comes to visit.
Here they are on Sunday afternoon.
Allie played ball with Morgan & Emily for a while to burn off some energy.

We love this little girl and can't wait for her to come back to see us again!

Football Weekend

Jeremy, Kara & Allie were able to come up last weekend for Jordan's game. Heather & Ty also made the trip to Valley City. It was an exciting game against Jamestown. Unfortunately Jamestown was ahead by 3 points when the final buzzer sounded.

Jordan had some good plays. Here are a couple pics of #4 in action:

Happy Birthday, Sister!!

Happy Birthday to our sister/tia, Maite!!

Feliz, feliz en tu día,

Amiguito(a) qué Dios te bendiga,

Y qué reine la paz en tu día,

Y qué cumplas muchos más.

Happy, happy on your day,

Friend, may God bless you,

May peace reign on your day,

And may you have/complete many more (birthdays, years).

Best Buds

Morgan & Emily are in different sports this year so they don't see each other every day after school like they had in the past. They are sharing a locker and have the same lunch break this year so they can catch up on things during the school day. Today Em came over to cheer on Morgan after she was done with Cross Country.
**Note that "Little Em" is now the same height as Morgan**

Vikes vs. Colts

Brittany, Jordan, Jeremy & Kara went to watch the Vikes play on Sunday. Crazy Jordan drove to Fergus after he got back from Nebraska (arriving around 3:30 a.m. early Sunday morning). They all had a good time even though the Vikings lost. It was fun to visit with Jordan & Brittany when they stopped in Fergus on their way back to Valley City.

8th Grade Volleyball

Morgan's volleyball team had their first game tonight. She scored quite a few points with her serves. Morgan (#33) had some good saves & even a spike tonight.
Here are a few pics....

Her little buddy (T.C.Lewis - no relation to C.S.) came with his Mommy, Grammie, Grampie, Great-Grammie & Auntie Em to help cheer on Morgan.....thanks for coming!!!

Off to Peru (Nebraska, that is!)

This past weekend we drove thru 5 states to watch Jordan play football at Peru State. Thankfully the rain all came the night before (3 inches) and we didn't get rained on during the game. We were wet when we left, but it was from sweat!

Here are a few pics of Jordan (#4) in action...

VCSU won 37 - 18!!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of 8th Grade.
It was a challenge to find her way around in a new school, but Morgan said it was a good day!
