Shopping with Allie

Grandpa & Grandma took Allie shopping on Saturday to get her birthday gifts. Auntie Morgan's musical production will be the weekend of her 2nd birthday so we may not be able to attend her birthday party. (Boo hoo)

We came home with a nifty little sandbox/ picnic table combo. She had a great time going from her sandbox to her swimming pool and back again. Kara said she took a long nap when she was finally done playing for the afternoon.

Wedding Bells

My cousin Mark Meier (Meier Tire) got married on Saturday. It was great to visit with relatives at the reception. Bev looked just beautiful. Here are a couple photos from the reception & dance.

Feelin' Corny

Grandma & Allie fixed her hair with new "hair pretties" that her daddy had gotten that day. We also made beautiful pictures with chalk on the sidewalk, splashed in the swimming pool until our clothes were soaked, and ate a yummy supper before it was bedtime. Allie also learned to take photos with grandma's camera. The picture of grandpa & daddy in the doorway below is one of about 15 that she took of them!

Busy Weekend

Paul & I made a trip to Rochester this past weekend. He wanted to see Jeremy & Kara's new house. We also needed to deliver Jeremy's game that he had been storing at the farm.

Class of 1982

Sheila & I will miss the Alma High School Class of 1982 reunion this weekend. We have so many great memories of times spent with these friends & classmates. (Like this birthday party when everyone ended up spending the night!)

Summer Project

We decided to take drastic action this year in hopes of actually having more than weeds and volunteer plants growing in our yard. (Digging up the yard for the water main break last year left the grass in terrible shape.)

We hired landscapers to reduce some of the slope by the house, take out the shrubs and a couple trees, haul in 5 loads of black dirt, and plant grass.

I spend 2-3 hours every night moving sprinklers and watering the grass seed. I am anxious for some lush green grass later this summer.
