Viking Football

Valley City traveled to Northfield, MN on Saturday to play St. Olaf. The Vikings did not win this week, but it was a fun game for us with all of the family members who came to watch Jordan play. (Jordan is #4.)

You can follow the VCSU Vikings at http://vikings.vcsu.edu/football

Evan & Autumn had their picture taken with Jordan after the game.

Allie enjoyed eating snacks, reading books, and playing with Auntie Morgan and Cousin Moriah during the game. We loved to listen to her point to things in her books and tell us what they were. She is a fan of all things Dora, Sponge Bob, and monkeys!

Junior High

It is tradition to take a photo the first day of school.

Morgan was ready for her first day of Junior High in record time. We were concerned that the bus driver might miss our stop (he would forget to drop her off many times last year) and that I might end up driving her to school. Bus #44 pulled up right in front of our house on schedule! The day was off to a good start!

Braces

Morgan got her braces on today. Here is a lovely closeup for your enjoyment!

The flowers on the mantle are from Heather & Zac.

They were delivered on opening day of the musical. Thanks Lewises!

Beauty & The Beast

Morgan has been extremely busy attending rehearsals for the musical for the past month. Most nights we got home after midnight and then she still had to shower to get all of the nasty hairspray and makeup off before she could even think about going to bed. All the long hours and late nights have paid off. The performance was WONDERFUL! I was amazed at the elaborate costumes, set and wonderful music. I can't wait to see the show again this weekend!

The orchestra was wonderful.

My photos were quite "fuzzy" since I didn't use any flash and I was quite a long way away from the stage. This is Morgan in her window during one of the first scenes.

One of Morgan's characters was a villager.

She was a spoon during the song "Be Our Guest" where the dishes were enchanted.

Below she is a wolf dancer. (I am not 100% certain this is Morgan....it was dark and I tried to pick her out by her shoes!)

Here is another scene with the villagers.

The majority of the cast at the curtain call.

We were glad that Grandpa & Grandma were able to attend on Saturday night.

Nelson Cheese Factory

Kara & Allie came to Nelson on Sunday for a few hours. After dinner Great-Grandma Pat & Great-Grandpa Denny took us all for cones at the Cheese Factory. Yum!

Shopping with Allie

Grandpa & Grandma took Allie shopping on Saturday to get her birthday gifts. Auntie Morgan's musical production will be the weekend of her 2nd birthday so we may not be able to attend her birthday party. (Boo hoo)

We came home with a nifty little sandbox/ picnic table combo. She had a great time going from her sandbox to her swimming pool and back again. Kara said she took a long nap when she was finally done playing for the afternoon.

Wedding Bells

My cousin Mark Meier (Meier Tire) got married on Saturday. It was great to visit with relatives at the reception. Bev looked just beautiful. Here are a couple photos from the reception & dance.

Feelin' Corny

Grandma & Allie fixed her hair with new "hair pretties" that her daddy had gotten that day. We also made beautiful pictures with chalk on the sidewalk, splashed in the swimming pool until our clothes were soaked, and ate a yummy supper before it was bedtime. Allie also learned to take photos with grandma's camera. The picture of grandpa & daddy in the doorway below is one of about 15 that she took of them!

Busy Weekend

Paul & I made a trip to Rochester this past weekend. He wanted to see Jeremy & Kara's new house. We also needed to deliver Jeremy's game that he had been storing at the farm.
