Concert Time

The Middle School Choir Concert was held at Life Church this past week. With the renovations going on at the school there are not adequate facilities available for a concert with several hundred participants and families. It was a nice facility. Here are a few pictures and a video clip for your enjoyment.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We finally got our tree up and the house decorated on Friday night.

This morning we woke to a blizzard. Morgan was supposed to sing with the choir at both church services today. Churches all over the area were canceled. This storm is huge and reaches across the entire eastern half of North Dakota as well. I think the whole town of Fargo has closed down for the day!

This is how Morgan is spending her morning off from church & confirmation class. (Snuggled in her bed watching Christmas DVDs!) She is finally getting over being sick so the extra rest is a good thing for her. She has been very busy with basketball the past few weeks.

Catching Up - A Busy November

Morgan finished JH Volleyball and is now playing basketball. Here is a shot during warm ups - I have mostly been video taping her games so I do not have many photos to post. She is having a good season. December 15th is her last game. This next week she has 5 away games in 7 days. (Well, Saturday is a tournament - I am not sure how many games they will play.) Yikes!!

The Fall Band Concert was very nice. The high school gym isn't the best place for a concert, but at least I could see her if I looked through the lens of my camera!!

Morgan plays in the 8th grade band and the Honor's Band.

Our days of football are coming to an end here. These are the VCSU seniors at their last home game. (Jordan is #4)
Here we are with our favorite football player. We estimated that we have attended between 175 - 180 football games that the boys played in over the past 13 years.
Whatever will we do with ourselves next Fall!?!?

It was a balmy 25 degrees at the final game of the season.

Jordan & a couple great teammates/friends - it was hard for all of us to leave the stadium after that final game.

The following weekend Paul, Morgan, Emily & I went to watch Taylor in the Eden Prairie High School production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" - It was terrific! I would have loved to gone back another time to see it again. (I had hoped to post a photo, but they are on Morgan's camera - maybe I can still get one from her later.) We spent the night and did a little shopping in Albertville on our way back on Sunday.

Allie & Kara stopped by on their way to North Dakota last week. It was fun having our "Little Al" here for even a short while. They had a great time with family in Souris & Minot and then stopped by again last night to stay with us again on their way back to Rochester.

This fun little guy spent the day with us yesterday while his mommy did a little shopping. Morgan took about 120 photos of him during the afternoon. He didn't mind the fuss at all - see the "peace sign" he gave us? He was cool with it all!!

Click on the video to see just how good natured this little guy is!

Dunkyn & Peppy spent a good part of the day outside watching Paul work.

Nothing like mowing and cleaning up the leaves in your yard on November 28th!! Like Paul told the neighbor, "better late than never"!

Here is our amazing little "Puzzler".

Allie got a PlayDough kitchen for a Christmas gift from one of her relatives this past week. We had a fun time creating all kinds of goodies last night. (Note the beans she is cooking on the burner - I guess you don't need a pan for that particular variety.)

Even Ty got in on the fun. He wasn't so sure what to do with the cookie cutter, but liked to feel the ball of dough.

Timmy showed Allie how to make a perfect slice of toast in the cool little toaster.

Allie & Kara left for home this morning. Allie was eager to get home to see her Daddy and her puppy.

Idle Threats?

This message was left for me today......

"If you don't start updating your blog.....your porch decorations could get worse!"

This was by my front door....

I won't say who sent such a threat - but maybe

the "Goodwill" sticker on the bottom of the elf will tip off some of you!!

I will update later today!

Happy Birthday, Shana Banana (Auntie Knee-Bones)

Since I didn't get any pictures posted for mom's birthday last week I decided that I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and post this photo in honor of Shana's birthday.

(Shana - you might want to keep it with your collection.) http://klimekchronicles.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html (bottom of page)

The photo was taken in Bill & LaNita's livingroom in the early 70's.

Happy Birthday, Little Sis!!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Pat!

I am working long hours this week preparing for a MN Dept. of Human Services licensing review. I don't want to miss the opportunity to wish my mom a great big "Happy Birthday" so I will write this for now & hope to post some photos tomorrow.

Hope you have a great day....we love you!!!

Unacceptable Behavior

The Minot State mascot was making "rude" gestures to the Valley City fans at the game on Saturday. The fans around me were totally appalled. I took a photo of the rude Beaver and sent it to the Athletic Director and President of Minot State along with an email expressing my disappointment at the display of poor sportsmanship. I promptly received a letter of apology from the Athletic Director. I obviously wasn't the only one to bring this to their attention.

Weekend at the Farm

This past weekend we were up at the farm for a couple days. Jordan played football at Minot State. Grandpa & Grandma were able to watch the game from the comfort of their easy chairs. It was Minot State's Homecoming and NBC broadcast the entire game!

The seating isn't that great for visitors at MSU - we had a hard time keeping our cameras focused on Jordan. Here are a few shots that we did get.

Offense resting - they had a big game (423 yards on offense)

Waiting for the pass (I don't think this pass came their way)

It was a high scoring game....unfortunately we ended up losing by 9 points at the end. 44-35

Morgan was able to spend Saturday night in Westhope hanging out with friends. After church on Sunday we had a yummy chicken dinner at Grandpa & Grandma's house and Morgan was able to go horseback riding with Kara's Mom (Lori) for a couple hours before we had to head back to Fergus. It was a good weekend.

Allie

Allie was a good sport at the football game. She played in the stands for about 4 hours & then fell asleep at the very end of the game. Grandpa had brought her buddy, Peppy, along down from the farm and she couldn't wait to bring "Puppy" back to the house so she could give her doggie treats and bones. Allie gives Peppy lots of love and attention whenever she comes to visit.
Here they are on Sunday afternoon.
Allie played ball with Morgan & Emily for a while to burn off some energy.

We love this little girl and can't wait for her to come back to see us again!
