LaNita (holding Chad), Mark (in the groovy blue vest and green shirt), Annie's head in front, not sure who's plaid butt is under the tree?!?

I thought the boys might get a kick out of seeing their Grandpa & Grandma and their Dad 36 years ago!! (Doesn't Bradley look like Chad in the 2nd picture?!)

Happenings

Morgan has been busy, busy, busy. Speech and Drama (JH Play) are done and now track has begun! Morgan, Emily & Heather are also rehearsing several nights a week for the "Razzle Dazzle Revue". They will have performances on Friday & Saturday this week. It is hard to get good pictures at the Center for the Arts, but I will try to get one or two posted by next week.

Morgan was part of the Worship Team at church on Easter Sunday. Heather had her trusty little camera in her purse and took a picture for me. They sounded good!

Jeremy, Kara, Allie, Jordan, Brittany, Shana, Jamie & Abby were all able to spend the weekend with us during the basketball tournament here a few weeks ago. (Oh yeah, Hurley & Etne were here too!) It was fun to have everyone here. We ran to so many different gyms/games that we didn't get a lot of time together at the house. This little girl was wore out before the weekend was over.

Okay....this little girl AND this big girl were wore out!

Grandpa tried to get Allie to sleep by reading her new John Deere "Allie Gator" book to her.
She could hardly keep her eyes open, but wanted to explore all of the items hiding behind the little flaps.

Allie was introduced to the world of handheld video systems.
She was very serious about learning how everything worked.

She was a very quick learner.

Uncle Jordan was thinking that he needed a turn playing Dora. I guess he needed to know that he could beat Allie's high score! That would give him some serious bragging rights on campus....I am fairly certain none of his buddies could boast a higher score of Dora the Explorer on VSmile Cyber Pocket!

The time together was way too short. I can't wait for everyone to come back again! Poor Jordan & Brittany are fighting flooding in Valley City right now. Classes at the college are canceled all week (and probably next week too). Jordan still has to drive to Jamestown everyday to do his student teaching at the high school. He had some good photos that he tried to email me, but I never got them. When his internet service is back again maybe he can try to send them one more time and I can post them here. Updates are on the local news channels. www.wday.com or www.inforum.com

Florida Fun

Sheila, Wes, Paul & I spent a relaxing week in the Orlando area visiting Mom, Woody & Maite. At the last minute we decided to leave on Monday night to beat the blizzard that was coming our direction. We were sure glad that we left when we did. The storm hit, interstates were closed, schools were delayed/closed, the temperatures dropped and the snow piled up all over the Fergus Falls area. We spent an extra 2 hours on the plane Tuesday evening as we waited to de-ice. It was hard to imagine the weather we left behind as we slept at Woody & Maite's house on Tuesday night with our windows wide open!! It was wonderful. We had weather in the upper 80's all week with lots of sunshine. We felt a little sorry for the girls & those left behind in MN.
We often found Paul on his phone during our vacation. Thankfully most of those calls were just chatting with his buddies & not all business calls. Here he is soaking up some sunshine by the pond in the backyard. (It wasn't overcast - I took the picture through the screen in my open bedroom window.)

Someone turned her ankle the first afternoon. Thankfully we had a doctor along and she was healed in no time. She did get out of hauling all of the heavy luggage around. (Not that she planned to carry it anyway because as she was ever so ready to tell us "she was on vacation"!)

We had some exciting evenings of playing games. Here we are introducing everyone to BananaGrams. (If you like crossword games like Scrabble we highly recommend this fast moving word game.) We also played Dominos and Catch Phrase. We love playing games with Maite - she is so much fun (for a cheater). Ha ha....just kidding, Maite!
We spent some time shopping, going to Cocoa Beach & Vero Beach, spending time at Nalcrest in Mom & Dad's new condo and exploring the Florida countryside while we went to Garage Sales with Mom's friends. The guys went to Gatorland and also went on airboat rides. (Woody needs to post a blog with these photos....hint, hint.)
Sorry, I didn't take my camera to the beaches with us. Maybe the Borowski's have a couple pictures on their blog.
We thought we would be able to view the space shuttle launch on Thursday since we were already in the Cocoa Beach area, but it was postponed. We did get a great view of the launch on Sunday evening from Woody & Maite's backyard.

This was our view from their backyard.

Okay....we had a tv out on the patio with us so we could see the actual blast-off.

Moments after this was seen live on the tv screen we saw this....

It was a great way to spend our last night in Florida.

Thanks, Mom, Woody & Maite for a fun week!!

February Fun

February has been very busy for a certain teenager at our house. Morgan's days have been filled with rehearsal for the junior high play every day after school (except Wed. when she has Youth Group at church). Monday morning she has Honor's Band practice at 7:30, Wednesday morning there is Speech practice at 8:00 and Thursday mornings she has Jazz Band at 7:30. (This week we get to add 7 a.m. play practice on Thursday....yippee.) Evenings are filled with homework and trumpet practice. Last week there were auditions for the "Razzle Dazzle Revue" 2 nights. This week we are adding a birthday, "cat sitting" for a friend of mine, a Choir Concert, and a Speech Meet.
It isn't all work. She went on a fun ski trip to Red Lodge, Montana during Valentine's weekend and got to miss a couple days of school!

Tonight Morgan came home with a silver medal!

She placed 2nd in her category at the Speech Meet.

Sheila, Wes, Kay & Emily came for treats after the concert last night to help Morgan celebrate her birthday.

Happy 14th Birthday!!

All choirs from grades 6 - 12 were a part of the concert. It will be nice when the school remodeling is finished so they do not have to perform in the gymnasium....the sound was not the best in there. What we could hear sounded pretty good.

Okay, I forgot to rotate this photo before I uploaded it....it is too late & I am too tired to fix it tonight. You will just have to turn your head to look at it!! Morgan got rollerblades for her birthday. She and Em are trying them out in Sheila's kitchen. When asked if they were making marks on the floor the reply was a meek "not big ones". Thanks Auntie for being such a good sport!! (Emily had received the same rollerblades for Christmas.)

Saturday night I threw together a cake at the last minute and we went to the Borowski's house for some tacos, games & birthday gifts. (Paul couldn't be here for Morgan's birthday and we wanted him to be able to celebrate with us. What was he thinking making our tax appointment on Morgan's birthday?!?)

Paul had originally planned to go on the ski trip with Morgan, Wes & Emily. Unfortunately he had to haul his sunflowers during that week. He had these beautiful flowers delivered to my office on Friday since I was going to be alone for Valentine's Day. Of course all of the other ladies at work were quite envious. In an effort to get the most enjoyment out of my arrangement as possible, I moved them from room to room on Valentine's Day as I did laundry, ironing and cleaned the house. I know....I am weird.

Brittany plays basketball in Dickinson tomorrow night. Paul called me to see if I wanted to go. Of course I wanted to go, but I cannot be gone from work for 2 days this week. He is up at the farm. I am guesing that he will make the trip West if he can work it out. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the game will be broadcast on the internet . Good Luck, VCSU!!
