Our Weekend

It had been a long week & we were looking forward to the weekend. Morgan had spent a couple nights with Emily because I had to be in St. Cloud for mantadory training for work. The girls were done with school for the week at noon on Thursday. (Fergus Falls seems to have an awful lot of "teacher work days" in the school schedule.) Friday had finally arrived and Morgan went to a sleepover at a friend's house. I was home alone, finishing up the last of the laundry & ironing. Paul was coming on Saturday & since he was only going to be here 24 hours I wanted to have all my weekend work done & out of the way before he came. I was hanging some things in my closet and heard a creaking sound. The next thing I knew the entire clothes bar & shelving came crashing down! (The same thing had happened in Morgan's closet last year.) After I dug myself out from all the bedding and things that had fallen on me from the upper shelf I immediately began pulling out my hang up clothes. I knew I had to get them hanging again before they wrinkled. Since we have limited closet space in our house I had to improvise and hang things all over the upstairs. Some clothes had plaster on them and needed to be washed. What a huge mess! So much for our work-free weekend!

Soon after he got here on Saturday afternoon Paul & Morgan ran to Fleet Farm to get the supplies needed to make the repairs. It didn't take Paul long to get the brackets & shelf repaired. (Since he had fixed Morgan's last year he knew exactly what needed to be done.) I had most of the closet put back in order by suppertime. (I did find quite a few items that I will be dropping off at the Goodwill on Monday.)

Saturday night we watched Dr. Dolittle 2 after supper. We were all so exhausted from the week that we could barely drag ourselves off to bed after the movie (9:30)!

Today after church we just finished our lunch when Wes called to see if we wanted to go to see "The Bucket List". Paul needed to get back to the farm so we went to the 2:00 matinee. The movie was good. Paul & Peppy left for the farm late this afternoon. I brought a bunch of my work home with me this weekend in an effort to catch up from being gone from my desk for 2 days this past week. I guess the rest of my evening will be spent working on that. (Fun)

I know this isn't a very excited post, but that is our life!

Bummer about the closet rack!!! At least you were able to "clean house"--something I desperately need to do in my closet! Hope this next week goes better for the Fylling Household!!!
